Talk to me about gear

I like tourmaster stuff for jackets and pants. Icon makes affordable and good looking items. I have icon summer gloves and the icon tar macs as well.

May be let us know your budget so we can make better recommendations. Helmets can cost anywhere from $80 to $1000

I wore half helmets until this winter; thinking they'd be more comfortable.

First time I wore my full one; I was amazed at how much quieter is was, and how much more I could hear, as the wind noise was pretty much gone.

It's black, and I intend to get a white one with some black graphics to wear next summer; as I'm through with those noisy POS half helmets!

Yes, we can ride W/O helmets down here, but when I started riding again; I promised my wife that I'd wear a helmet.

I wear face shields too, as I find them more comfortable when riding than not wearing one.

I wear this Arai RX-Q all year round - even in Florida's summer heat. My head's worth it.

My jacket is Tourmaster's Intake:

but I have to admit - I occasionally leave the jacket behind on our warmest and most humid days.

Love the Arai, excellent helmet, however, Your head is worth the helmet but you don't wear a protective gear in summer? What a bout your body? :whitstling::whitstling::laugh:

I didn't mean to say that - I wear all the gear even in the summer - except for the jacket, which I sometimes leave behind depending on the temperature and humidity.

ksquared is those kevar jeans much hotter than regular jeans, and what do they sell for.
They sell for $79.95 plus $10.00 for removable knee armor. They are not much warmer than regular, because they have a baggy fit, so air actually circulates under them.

Arai Sig Q is what I go with love it so far Tourmaster 3 Peace jacket and its good to about 90with just the mesh

I find that it is more comfortable riding with a full face helmet, it's quieter, warm in winter, and avoids getting sand blasted by 110 degree air in summer. Used to wear a leather jacket year round, added a summer textile jacket a while back, But the new textile jackets with vents, liners, removable panels are good year round.

I have a very high quality matching jacket and helmet that I am thinking of selling. Helmet is a large and jacket is a 48. Shoot me a PM if your interested.

I wear a roof desmo helmet very comfy with the advantage of flipping the chin bar all the way to the back of helmet when needed ,
my jacket is a swedish army leather bomber from the motorcycle dispatch regiment i think it was manufactured in the the fifties , bombproof!! but heavy bottom armored jeans and armored gloves on the feet construction boots with metal tang. same gear at every ride

First time I ever rode without a full face (with half helmet) I was deafened by the wind noise gowing between the chin strap and my ears. If I turned my head to the left/right it was tolerable, but straight on it was insanely loud (granted it was a cheap helmet). If I could only get rid of the bad head buffering at higher speed (80mph) on my bike I would be good. Being tall the front flyscreen doesn't do anything (likely makes the buffering worse for my head).
