I checked my 5.11s and the Blackhawks, sure enough pad pockets in both! Still can't imagine the ripstop is as protective as Kevlar or leather, but it may become my new riding pants of choice!

I use a shark evoline 3, good in hot weather because you can leave the chin guard flipped back. I have vanson leather as well as cordura armored pants. As well as a vanson cobra jacket, and a vanson mesh jacket for hot weather. Sidi canyon boots.

I like my Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 SILVER jacket in the summer.
The TX sun really will cook any kind of dark color.

I have been wearing regular jeans but will now have to get me a pair of those 511s.
