Talk to me about gear

This is the response I got.
As far as tracking data on Spot’s web site. You can retrieve tracking data on the Spot web site at www.findmespot.com for up to the last 30 days. You will need to login into your account and select the “My GPS Locations” tab and then click on the “Set Filter” box and it will give you the option to select “30 days”
Hope this helps,
Rick

Thanks, vanguard!
That was indeed helpful as I was told seven days was the max.
However, in my case last summer, I was out six weeks and wanted a record of the actual path I traveled.
After several calls to Spot, apparently they can't/won't provide this. I guess it is what it is and I'll just have to find another way to do this.
Best Regards,

@Boog i know this is an old post, but as the season's about to start I was looking at some Kevlar jeans. Then I saw your post about the 5.11's. Are those standard cargos. I own several pair, and don't think I've ever seen knee pad pockets inside mine? Just wondering if you've got a sturdier model, before I decide to go ride in mine ;)

Kevlar jeans are fine to protect against some mild to moderate abrasion, but they don't really protect the body parts that are subject to injury from high impact accidents or very severe, high speed slides - parts like your knees and hips and butt are particularly vulnerable.

Those cargo pants with pockets for body armor sound like a very good alternative to Kevlar jeans alone!

@TriumPhil Here in Germany I've gotton into the habit of textile armored riding pants. Just thinking they're gonna be to hot back in Mississippi. Don't want to go back to just plain jeans!

here is a video describing the pants I use or at least a pair similar. Around 6 minutes he talks about the knee pads. Search 5.11tactical pants knee pads and you will find a plethora of information. Good luck

@Boog the taclites are what I wear. I knew the knees were double material, but I thought you were talking about inserts. I'll have to check mine in the morning. I also have some Blackhawks that I prefer to wear in colder weather (actually like the pockets on them a little better too). Now I have to go turn all my pants inside out and see if I've been missing something ;)

I also wear the winter weight 5.11s Catching them on sale is the key.

I checked my 5.11s and the Blackhawks, sure enough pad pockets in both! Still can't imagine the ripstop is as protective as Kevlar or leather, but it may become my new riding pants of choice!

I bought the rocket mesh ones with the removable insert. Very dry in rain, take the waterproof insert out for warm weather, gets a nice breeze flowing through it. I did swap out the foam hip inserts for more rigid ones for protection.
