Talk to me about gear

My main lid is a Shoei RF1100, with a Bell Vortex as a secondary. During the fall/winter I had a very thick leather jacket. During the summer I have a Taichi jacket; expensive, but the most well ventilated jacket I've ever owned and the fit (though they tend to run small) is excellent, I've also owned their gloves, great fit/quality.
Having spent time flying through my bike's windshield and a car's, I'm a gear Nazi through and through.

I currently have a HJC IS MAX Bluetooth helmet.
I wear Aerostich in cooler temps and rain, Olympia mesh jacket and kevlar sliders in hot weather.
SIDI Canyon Vortex boots.
And some Olympia? Gloves

May be getting some KLIM motorcycle gear this summer. I absolutely love their snowmobile gear.

I use the Olympia Switchback mesh jacket. It also has a liner for colder weather. My helmet is the Shoei Neotec. They saved me and my son last fall from serious injurys when we went down. Had to replace the helmets but the jackets were barely scratched. I won't ride without them!

I wonder what those who think it's fine not to wear a helmet on a motorbike would think about a footballer or hockey player choosing not to wear one.

Never looked at it from that angle, but a good point indeed, and those are the supposed tough guys!

They'd say it was completely different - that in those sports head-to-head impacts are inevitable, severe, unavoidable and repeated, where in motorcycling, falls can be avoided and are not an integral part of the pastime.

Not my view - but I bet it would be theirs.

I think I have it narrowed down to three.
Cortech GX Sport Air 3.0
Tourmaster Intake Air 3
Olympia Airglide 4
Does anyone have anything to say about these - especially negative.
I am looking for a 3 to 3.5 season jacket that I can wear in the 80s temps.
Much appreciate ALL the input,

Agreed and along those lines it was my brother's crash resulting in a foot peg being stabbed into his skull.
He lost his M/C shop and ability to work. The state of CA paid for ALL the trauma and medical costs as well as his disability.
Unless you be a millionaire, not wearing a helmet may be your choice; but it is NOT merely your responsibility! If you crash and are seriously injured, we ALL pay for it!

I wear the Tourmaster on all but the hottest days here in Florida. On those days I wear a Vanson Vent Max 4, which is really nothing more than a zip front mesh shirt with armor.

Don't know how much protection it affords, but it's surely better than nothing. I hope never to find out.

Thanks for the input, K^2. That jacket would work for hot weather; but, not for the rest. Here in WA that would mean packing two jackets + raingear.
Since I am not blessed with Florida weather, I am attempting to cover as much of the weather as possible. To obtain this level of protection, the optional rain and thermal inserts are required.

Note: Thanks to your help, I just went with the Tourmaster Intake Air 3.
Shall see how the fit is after it arrives. Revzilla offers free shipping back if needed.
I'll let you know hoe it works out as I be a tad nervous being a lifelong leather old school rider.
