I detailed the conversion of all the exterior and instrument lights on my MG Midget to LEDs in another post (which I can't find now...).

SUPER BRIGHT LEDS home

That's the place I purchased the $240 worth of lights from. They produce and supply direct-replacement style lamps for just about every known bulb type. Customer service was excellent, even when I had to return two of the 5w Luxeons, at $34 apiece, for replacements.

For your taillight and signals, I would recommend their Luxeon 3w or 5w (they're not cheap) replacements. That's what I used the the MG's rather anemic 1157-powered sockets... and let me just say, you'll go blind looking at them now! The running lights are actually brighter than the stock brake lights, by quite a margin. I plan on upgrading my Rock's lights in the same manner.

Turn signal conversion

This being a R3T forum I'm reluctant to post...
Increasing the visibility of the rear end for tailgaters may be accomplished with a Backoff turn signal conversion: Tri-Star XP Module
Increased rear end visibility for bone head socker moms with cell phone anxieties was my greatest conern.
In the event that the stock tail light burns out, which mine did tonight and the sheriff was nice enough to let me go, the amber turn signals (operating as running lights and additional brake lights as well as normal turn signalling) keep you visible. I installed the load equalizer as well, in anticipation of possible later conversion to LEDs.

LEDs are not created equal. You pay a higher price for bright LEDs.

I too changed to Sylvania Silverstars in the head lamps and they do make a difference.

I had installed the Hyperlights on my BMW. They were brighter and more noticable than the stock lights. The big problem is getting something high enough to be visable to a cager. adding something below the stock light is a wast of money and moveing it higher tends to get gauddy. Maybe a strobe light on a broom stick.....

I've had these Pilot brand Xenon XL-1157 WK bulbs lying around. I originally purchased them, for the Rocket, with hope that they'd beam more rear end attention getting brightness, over stock. I now remember why they've been lying on the shelf. They're CRAP! The brake light side is barely adequate but the tail light section reminds me of our dim lit town mayor! She's under the impression the current economic crisis is simply a blip in the economy. I have that in writing.

Once again, you get what you pay for. And Wally World is famous for throw away garbage. Made wiith inferior materials and slave labor:mad:
