Suspension on a Roadster

I have an 05 and replaced the original shocks in the first couple of months after I got the bike.

Went for Hagon Nitro's 1" longer than standard. This tightens the steering up a lot. The main reason I went for new shocks was to get something/anything that had rebound dampening. This is critical with a big heavy bike. There are many good brands of shocks I only went for Hagons as my old classic bikes had them. Got them from the US, for half the price they were here and the delivery was faster than here.

Usually stock shocks are built to a cost to keep the sell price of the whole bike down (unless your buying some "high spec" model.

I think 12.5 is just a skosh under as it is 317 mm I think the Rockets are 320 mm. Not sure but if I am wrong Bull will correct it. The Hagons are nice I ran some longer ones a couple sets. Right now I am running YSS which are fine also. The front is a different game I hear just adding springs makes a difference. Mine well Ducati monster springs and internals made a heck of a difference. Especially on the dive when entering a curve or rapidly applying the brakes.

I would like to try the Wilbers but I have pissed enough away on shocks gaining marginal improvement over the different brands of shocks. All being better then the OEM ones.

If you need it lowered I would definitely explore a lower seat rather than drop the back with shorter shocks.

If you must lower it, just ensure you lower front and back in proportion to keep geometry relationships the same or similar to stock.

Did you have some head shake? I find my stock Roadster very stable compared to some other bikes I have owned as they all had much quicker steering than the Rocket.

Once and a while above 160 mph depending on conditions. It is just a safety precaution. Well that and it is a safety regulation on some courses :) So I thought I would have a go at fitting one since one of my bikes is torn down at the time. I am trying to find something that does not lift the bars as much as the rivco risers do. This raises the bars 1. 015 "
