Tools will be here in a couple days, just going to rock it that way, they're supposedly the "right tool for the job" lol.

Yes I know better than to use WD-40 anywhere meaningful because its not really a lubricant, yes I know how to pack a bearing.

Going to look at some other greases see what's out there.

If you're going the high-temp route, my research led me to Red Line CV-2. Reviews are as good as it gets, and it's supposed to have good water resistance as well. Absolutely overkill for this application, but I bought it for some wheel bearings, and since I'll already have it on the shelf…

For those looking to do this in the future, the bearing race punch comes in two sizes. The size you want is the larger of the two, not the smaller

The motion pro tool is incredibly nice, going to dig into the head stock Friday.

Thought I'd leave some tool feedback...

Motion Pro Steering Bearing Tool - Awesome, works perfectly as advertised, made lower bearing removal and installation a breeze.

Park Bearing Race Remover - Awesome, tap tap tap done.

The Steering Race Press - Don't buy it if you're going to be doing only the Rocket. The way the bike is built you'd have to remove the tank and radiator to get the turning handle to fit. Just get a collet and rod so you can gently hammer them in.

All told, 1 hour job, fully disassembled and reassembled. My bearings were not marked or scored in anyway but I can definitely feel the difference between old and new, no more knocking in the head when wiggling the forks with the front wheel in the air Old bearings still had plenty of clean grease in them, just dead, no explanation as to why.
