Stator blown at 23K?

mines 2008 and having the same issues, waiting to see what you find out
my bike has 15.500 miles I'm the 3rd owner and just completed the test on my stator myself turns out I should have done this in the first place

My readings

any pin to engine ground = OL

PINS
1-2 0 omhs 0 volts
2-3 0 omhs 0 volts
3-1 0 omhs 0 volts

Really hard to believe with suck low miles

where are you checking to get these results?
i am assuming that you are checking at the connector to the regulator and it is unplugged.
have you checked volts from bat, fuse 11,at the reg. also bat neg from bat to reg connector.
do a voltage check across all fuses.
you never said what happen when it went bad. to much charge or to little charge, no charge.
what is happening to the bike?

The bike just died, I checked at the battery it was dead check at the battery fuses volt meter said it wasn't charging, changed the battery and regulator it went after one season then failed. readings at battery 13.5 - 14

Thought I didn't clean the connection going to the battery well enough.Got a new regulator and wiring from eastern beaver. He does a good and strong job cheaper than i could get all the parts for put them in. readings at battery 13.5 - 14

Rode another season this season rode it 3 time the last time down town I could smell some wiring frying took a look regulator again.

order another for $40 dollars hoping it would last long enough for me to figure out whats going on. I know it's insane doing the same thing over and over.

It lasted 10-20 minutes if at all. readings at battery 123.5 - down

You know the rest.

I'm confident I used the volt meter right ( was a military mechanic when it was all carb and points. still not bad at it)

I really don't want to pull the engine but on the other hand I'll really get to know the bike

forgot AC not DC setting it check out at 25 volts so stator is all good.
Now why am i burning through regulators.....

there was a couple of guys that had been buying bad regulators. i can't reminder who they got them from. maybe some one will answer up.
one of the guys thought it took out the computer.
if you are saying that it was charging at 25 volts that's enough to take out computer or battery.
if you put another reg on the bike you should check voltage before and after you start eng
with the trouble you have had i would be leery of any voltage above 14 volts.

20-70 v AC is the average at the stator

I have been told R/R Compufire 55402 40 amp is the answer. found others same problem they put that in and smooth sailing ever since I just ordered one

I put a 35 amp one in and same problem, I had no error readings in windings on the stator, and it was putting out 65 - 75 ac volts, the r/r knocked it down to a charge of 13.5 at idle- then shot up to 14.5 at 2500rpm, so im thinking not good too much power.

i would think that would be ok
what we need is a alternator expert.

I have been chatting with DeCosse on Triumphrat.net hes knows what he is talking about has a few threads there and I have read others with same issue seems no one knows whats the cause but the Compufire 55402 fixes it. I would prefer an answer as well...

Well i got the rocket back today, turns out they reckon the first reg/rec had some water in it, causing some wiring to burn out down in the loom, so they put new reg on and replaced all the loom, $879.00, thank god I don't have to pay them for it.....Lets see how long this one last for now though

While many Triumph models are known for weak stators (955s, 675s, and 600 4s), I don't think the Rocket is one of them, I can't recall hearing of another stator failure on a Rocket?

I currently have "stator" failure on my 2010 Roadster and am looking at getting one from Rick's Motorsport electrics as they are asking $225.00 US as opposed to Triumps OEM price of over $400.00
