Starter upgrade issues

Late to your thread, but have you increased the pos & neg bat cable sizes? I doubled up with an extra set and twas much more power in the start!
I used 2/O - 3/0 welding lead fine stranded cable for both the Pos. & Neg. cables, one each. No problem since. I did install the bigger starter and rebuild kit in the solenoid.

Will the Toyota starter work on a2014 roadster? Can't believe what Triumph wants for a starter.
yes as long as you use the rocket nose and bendex.
but not just any toy starter

I ordered 2001-2003 highlander. That's what I read on one of the posts. I'll update after it gets in.

I just bypassed that plug & ran a wire from solenoid plug to starter relay black wire.
Solved my starter clicking issues after trying everything else.
hi. 2 questions please.
1)Is it running a wire from here to black(87) of starter relay?

2)Is it the original 5 pin starter relay or the mod 4 pin?

Much appreciated.

Yes from starter plug straight to thick black wire 4 pin plug.
The wire from relay to starter just goes into loom & out...it doesn't branch off to anything else in loom.

Thanks. Will try out.
Am waiting for my mod 4pin relay to arrive.

So the old black from original 5pin...doesn't need to be connected at all? Since I have this thicker red to the new 87 of the 4pin relay.

Correct?

The wire is originally black, but going red or any color all good. I ran the wire inside protective tubing as well

Just because the solonoid clicks, does not mean it is working...... bad/dirty/burnt contacts not passing current through to starter....
