Trying to find parts- I can not find on the schematics for various Triumph dealers. If someone can share a link, that would be great.

Cheapo that I am I will try to fix the existing switch, but given how it virtually shuts you down (I also have rough running at lower RPMs) I may as well get some parts. There has to be a way to protect this switch. I don't think I wiped it down in that area, yet. Only 3 days in, so far with this new bike....

What a POS switch, Triumph, and still tied into the ECU as before with the Roadster and other models.

I think that u could remove and bend the piece that press against the button that activates the switch
what happens is that the (finger for lack of the correct terminology) is bent away from the button on the clutch switch that it is suppose to push in when the clutch is released
then clear codes

I'll give it a shot. How do you clear codes, btw?

u can do it with tuneecu or
but a small scanner for about that reads and clears codes**$100
they have cheaper but try to get one that has data. it is not as good as tuneecu but is good in a bind.
if the problem is fixed then the code will eventually fall off without clearing codes

You may know this answer. I'm a Mac guy, but have an old PC laptop that I've used for TuneEcu. I hear that you need an Android, maybe ?, for the new bikes. I've been thinking about finding an old Android device that, if I could somehow load TuneEcu on I could use instead. I don't want another phone on my plan though. Do you , or anyone have any ideas on this? I might ought to create a new thread for this, but here's a try, for now....

I got a loose (missing) screw.

I tried to put the existing one in the other hole to see if it fits, so I can hunt down a replacement, but it met resistance about half way and I didn't want to force it. Anyone know by chance if the screws are the same size?
I sprayed a little WD-40 on the itty-bitty micro switch and put it back together.
Bike would not start now with the clutch out (a good sign), so I'm hoping that might take care of it.
I remember with the Roadster that the gas gauge wouldn't come back on until the next fill up. I plan to check that out tomorrow and see also if it now runs better at low RPMs.
Even if all seems well, I think I need to figure out the screw replacement pretty soon.

no need for a sim on the android phone to start use tuneecu as far as i know (you can ask them to be sure). You might need to connect to internet via wifi to download the tunes etc

Edit: thanks @Rakthi - I didn't see your response (above).

This is probably way too much to ask, but if anyone could pull the small screw missing in this photo and send a pic of it that would be really appreciated. I'm not sure if it's a coarse thread like the other and how long it should be- does it reach into the aluminum housing to secure the entire switch (mine wiggles), for example, or just hold the "clip" in place with the other screw?

I would pick up an old android phone
U do not need a service plan to go online to down load the app from tuneecu
Several years ago it was $11.00
If the switch works i wonder if that will let gas gauge work with out clearing codes?
