Something Failed, let’s find it! Transmission Analysis.

The metric system was originally devised by a man from the UK...yeah, I was amazed too!

An english firm were contracted to make several prototype standards of a metre somewhere in the middle of the 19th century. Mouton (french vicar or some such) proposed the decimal system in the late 1600's. His work slso gave rise to the nautical mile based on 1° of arc of a cirlce at a given distance from the earths centre. The Italians added to the system as well. Thats also why the measurements are expressed in latin and old french (metre being French)

One thing I do find easier about the metric system is how it all works together. 1cc = 1ml, and if you have 1ml or cc of water it will weigh 1 gram. Where 1ci = .5541oz of fluid. If that is water it weighs .0361 pounds. o_O
Being that my job consists of lots of fluid volume calculations, and lots of weight conversions, I think metric would be easier.

The decimal system and subsequent SI units were developed and agreed upon, initially by the global scientific community, so that your working life could be that easy ....how are all the old timers going to cope with kW's instead of horsepower when we finally all go electric?

Is this you at work :D
