if it could be done a 5th gear change would be great
if u could downsize the gear and change the teeth count then u would not have to change the shifter parts.

Good idea in thought but again no gear theroy used in a thought can be more like a fart in a whirl wind.

In order to do that and not be able to change the center to center distance of the input and out put shaft (which if your thining you can remember you will have to change the large crank gear and clutch basket drive gear. Or use a big hammer and change the engine to a flower pot the welll if you could then the output gear in fifth will have to get smaller which the the drive dogs will start to disapear (the ones that mesh into the 3rd output to complete the drive) of course if you change the i ternals of the 3 out put plus redesign the 4 out put need I go on. Buy a gear design theroy book read it. On then pose thoughts. Remember gear calcutatlion are based on pii being 3.1416. Sonds bad but using this make it easier to use a half of pii 1.5708 or a quarter pii .7854 in you calculations. So the do not run on for ever. Remember also the need rstio between pitch diameter of gear and tooth element ratio. Ofter all you don't want to end up with a partial tooth.

Ok thats like think I only want to add 1 megaton to rhe weapon its only one will it realy change anything? Or maybe this is better i wat to add one more tooth or foer the matter take one tooth away. I know i have a 1 inch diameter circle in which the circumference of the circle is 3.1416 inches. Wait this is easier knowing them contestants things referr to the diameter of the circle wich has a circumference 3.1416 all the way around. Do you think really you can fit one more tooth of the same size in that cirlcle with out changing nothing on the circle. If so two things come to mind!!! One being do not rely on you mathematical abilities. Look at it as i have a five gallon bucket of ****. Which is like 5 separate teeth on a gear. I want to add one more tooth of equal size but I do not want the five gallon bucket to over flow. All I can say is I hope your **** is hard or I would think it would over flow onto the floor. Not trying to be mean but you scope or vision of things mathematically make me never want you to count my money

I think he means 1 tooth bigger input one tooth smaller output. A small change, but still a logistical nightmare because the change of 1 tooth on a big gear is a smaller change than one tooth on a smaller gear. Even adding one tooth (big gear) and dropping 2 teeth (small gear) would require the gears to be very specifically sized. Nothing easy about it, at all.

In case its confusing you want to take a 4 quart gallon and add a extra quart with out it over flowing or getting bigger tgen four quarts.

Easier if the Gallon is Imperial and the Quarts are American.

i must agree with u i can not pour 5 quarts in a gallon jug
the way i see it is
1st gear different teeth
2nd gear different teeth
3rd gear different teeth
4th gear different teeth
5th gear different teeth
with all the gears the tooth count on drive and driven gears r different
and i was just throwing out an idea if u do not like the idea then i respect your opinion.if it costs to much that is ok if it can not be done that is ok also.
i guess i would say for every one good idea i have 10 bad ones.

Ok knowing you have some intimate k knowledge of trannys especially the rocket fred. Look at what make 4rd forth and fith mesh in comon and the the shafts ask your self what happens to the drive dogs on the internals of the gears once you reduce the externals. Remember you can not change the center to center distance.
I have confidence in your research. Although if I were you I would listen to me and not waste the electron draw on your brain. It has better things to contemplate .
