Something Failed, let’s find it! Transmission Analysis.

Did I ever let everyone know that my failure was a detent spring on my sound file?
Does anyone remember upgrade/recommendations for 05 rocket transmission, and what it entailed. Have engine apart, cases separated, etc., and hate to be this close and miss something. Was this a dealer follow up notice? Thanks

For Triumph parts, 2nd gear upgrade, clutch bearing change out, lifter shaft should be upgraded, detent spring replacement, tensioner blade upgrade. Check the bearings to ensure they're installed right way round, check the torsional damper and upgrade to newer version if required.

If you want it stronger send it to Robinson Industries for the billet 4th, back-cutting, and circlip upgrade.

Thanks, been following your steps forward, amazed by your effort and determination, as well as ability.

What was the problem with 2nd gear, got mine apart don't see a problem unless dogs not going deep enough.

At some point they changed the number of dogs on 2nd gear for strength reasons, or so I'm told. The newer version has fewer, but stronger, dogs.

The early models had eight side engagement dogs on 2nd gear. It was determined that having four eliminated the popping out of gear problem. Initially Triumph provided a second gear with four of the dogs ground off as a repair solution. That's what mine had in it. Later second gears only had four side engagement dogs. So in reality they made the parts weaker not stronger. That is why the later models, and repaired early models, have a lot of drive-line snatch in second gear.

Thanks for the explanation, like to know why doing something. Doesn't make it cheaper but makes it wiser.
