So I think I want a blower on my Rocket

I apologize for resurrecting an old topic, but I must know more about this, and a Google search didn't reveal anything. How exactly was the motor destroked? How much boost was being run? Compression ratio? I have some experience with sporty bike motors, a lot of them you can just pop on a thicker head gasket to drop the CR, and then run 10-12 lbs on pump (premium) gas with a decent intercooler. No major internal modifications required. In fact I put almost 15k miles on a GSXR1000 with just a thicker head gasket and 15 psi. Then my brother wanted to see if it could handle 20 psi.... It could not

If this is possible on the Rocket, I may save the turbo that I was going to put on the BlackBird... I think a 16G winding up around 3500 rpms would suit a Roadster rather nicely.

As I remember somebody here once said..... if your bike ain't blown, it sucks.

Hi, people ask for advice and then they do exactly the opposite, go for the Carpenter 240 , I've got that ,it Works, pull the throttle at 120 mph in second gear and the rear Wheel starts spinning, think that should be enough for most of you. Top speed , more than 200 mph., Regards, Hans.

Hey Hans long time. I suspect the beast is still running well.

I suspect I am a bit bias here because I have both on one of my Rockets and then the NA on the other. In fact I first started out with the blower kit before the Carpenter stuff was on the market. They all improve there kits as they go I must say I like some of the new changes Richard has made to his blower cover in his kit. Personally the only factor I keep in mind is quality of the fuel you can get as it is important when your running forced air. It suck being out in the country on a trip and you can not find premium fuel. Your either adding boost or riding like a grand ma to stay out of the boost until you find proper fuel. Not a worry with NA motors.
Either way you go it will be fun.

what kind of rev limit do you have? at 9000 on mine in 2nd i'd be around 100 maybe 110mph.

Just came across this while searching through various CL markets:

2005 Triumph Rocket III TURBO-230 HP-Incredible Power-

Anyone on the forum? (or know of the bike?)

Absolutely no affiliation with seller - just thought might be of interest to someone in the market for an FI RockeT
Price is certainly attractive for what it is!
