Yeah, sounds about right, maybe a little low, near 90 in first.

Hard to know fo sho, roadster clocks don't wind past 8k (or 140mph), the needle stops.
Certainly wouldn't be doing 120 in 2nd never mind having any throttle left!
 
I've redlined 2nd, but the front wheel was off the ground, I was too busy to look at the speedometer...
 
however,if we are talking about THIRD gear, at 120mph on a 240 carpenter roadster, there would be a few revs left before the limit and the rear DOES break traction.
fishtailing at 140mph is a seat biting moment.
 
Yes, mine breaks traction before it lifts the wheel, unless I have a pillion. Mine is a Touring, but I did fit a 200 to the rear, they had to deflate it to get it back on the bike.

I'm shifting to 3rd between 100-110 too, but my front tire comes up a little (and stays up for a couple of seconds). No traction problems, but I am almost heavy enough for 2 people.

its easy to figure out whats your speed at 3000 rpm in 2nd gear ?
