Smartphone mount options

This reminds me of the people I see at the gym everyday. They can't even work out because they are constantly answering phone calls, text messages, looking at posts in between sets. Not just kids either, old people too. They can't even keep a rythm on a treadmill or elliptical trainer - H<ll, I even see em come to a complete stop :banghead:
One kid walks around talking on his bluetoof from the minute he walks in until he leaves... Sometimes he forgets about his next set or even what weight group he's working .
I leave my phone in the truck or ringer off in the gym bag.
Dang, I must be there to.......................................... Work out o_O :whitstling:
The best smart (smart? really?) phone mount I have found for the bike is my back pocket. The best hi tech app on the Rocket is the tach
I know, I know - I'm getting old, stuck in the stone ages, yada yada - What ever
Ok... Fire away

My job requires me to be on call 10 days a month, so I either take my phone or not ride that week. I carry my phone.

My phone never goes in the gym, always goes in the bag on my bike and usually gets shut off Friday at 1700 and back on 0600 Monday morning. I hate cell phones.

I reckon the more aged we are, the more resistance to change. :D
I do agree with you about the abuse and intrusiveness to others from the inconsiderate over use of cell phones by folks.
I clearly remember when you & I said the same about the computer replacing the typewriter.
I ride with many others and usually suffer being the appointed leader. GPS has become invaluable in planning routes, negotiating through city congestion and finding addresses, gas & motels.
Talking on a phone or listening to music is NOT my preference and interferes with my experience of the ride!
My phone stays in my tank bag until I am stopped and need it for reporting into the wife, coordinating with other riders and soon to check my air pressure. Correction, my new Schuberth helmet should allow phone usage while motoring.
On motor trips is the only time I consistently carry - *** & phone as well. :p

So what about cell phones killing the market for Garmin ?

I can see having the phone in a holder, with the plastic baggy, tied by BlueTooth to my Sena 20S, with turn-by-turn coming from the lady of Google Maps - and with the phone a sunk cost, I've saved the $600 or so on a dedicated unit that doesn't perform nearly as well.

And this has nothing to do with listening to any other music than 2294 ccs with your favorite additives or neat.

Joe,
In my experience of several years comparison on many long trips that the Garmin is superior to cell apps.
The route choices sometimes vary quite a bit so, my bro & I have ran tests where he followed his cell & I my Garmin.
I usually arrive first (our rule is no more than 10 over) and my routs are usually more scenic. There is more but, I won't bore you with it.
I have used both in my vehicle business travels and prefer the Garmin.
Both GPS and telephone are important. Try both at the same time and you shall do each half-ass!
JMHO, but I could be correct!
