Smartphone mount options

I can see using Tune ECU that way. It has a real time display -- reminds me a little of the fancy timing lights one could use when I was a teenager working for $5/day in an independent Mercedes shop, and other selectable readings.

I wouldn't want to be in rush hour traffic doing this though.

Any of the BlueTooth adapters listed on the TuneECU site will work -- they're diminutive and powered by the OBD II port, and easily sit under the left cover (see other threads about securing the covers). I bought -- as reported elsewhere -- one of the BT adapters and it worked fine, but the TuneECU map edit functions were grayed out, and go back to the site and see where Alain had "hidden" a caveat that "Yes, TuneECU works with these adapters but you can't reprogram the ECU with them". Grrrrrr

This OBDII bluetooth stuff is new since I have visited.
I see tis likely the LX version, but I do not see a specific reference to the Rocket.
Could you perhaps help me with a link to the correct one?

Are we looking at the same site ?

TuneECU_Android

In that long page, roughly in the middle, there is a list of bikes on which the Android version of TuneECU works.

About a third of the way down that list is the Rocket III, with a red asterisk -- I totally missed the first time around.

Yes, I went with the LX BT adapter, only because of the ones on the list, that one was the least expensive -- around $50 on Amazon.

When I was all ready to load @HansO 's tune and it wouldn't work, I was about to send Alain a nasty email, when I looked again at the site, and saw the red asterisk notation at the bottom of that list: "* With Bluetooth connection, reading and reprogramming map functions are not available."

Well I saw this:
"Triumph Rocket III (all model years) |via cable & Bluetooth* June 2015"
and this:
"* With Bluetooth connection, reading and reprogramming map functions are not available."

Neither say ANYTHING about which OBDII bluetooth to use.
Will this work?
or this?
or this from a Street Triple Tune ECU video?

They might -- caveat emptor. Alain says on his site that his list is NOT exhaustive.

If you were to buy all those -- cheap at twice the price -- and test them for us, there you could let Alain know to update his page, and the rest of us would benefit. ;)

The older guys here would probably hate me but yeah I have 3 mounts on the front of my bike. One on the left handlebar for a 5" Garmin GPS, one in the middle for a 5.5" Android GPS/Speedometer readout and on the right handlebar I have my Iphone 4S setup for music and communications. Most people comment that my bike has more gadgets then their car. I'm a nerdy techy guy so this all comes natural. Using my SENA bluetooth headset I can press the phone button and have SIRI do things for me that I can't do with my hands like make calls, add events to my calendars, set reminders ETC.. its really great.

Will this work?

1oldbull, I have this unit:
I apears to be the one at the top of your list.
I have an older model (same company) that works great with both Tune ECU and the Torque app. (Although, as stated, you cannot up/download tunes with Bluetooth). No reason to believe that this newer unit won't work just as well.
Let me know if you have any other ???
