I had to visit Hamburg yesterday, work related. On the Rocket zipping down the autobahn,,phew small screen is hard work. On the return journey i was in pain, it was dark cold and autobahns are boring, so i pressed on at 100 to 110 mph , I didnt last long , i got cramp in my forearms from holding on, my piss pot helmet was being blown off my head and the strap was choking me . This morning i have cramp in my neck , 400 miles , speed and low screens are not good. Life isd a learning process, i am aware that small screens offer less protection but i like to learn from experience, it was the hard way. Future high speed trips will see the summer screen fitted as i make a very good wind brake .

i have a shark raw helmet , sort of fullface,,next time i shall wear it but with earplugs as it is really loud, pisspot now relegated to slow local stuff ,as for forgetting the screen altogether,,,,,nope, not a chance mate, Germany has a very real reputation for high speed travel , a free flowing autobahns average traffic speed is 90 mph , the autobahns are mind numbingly dull , i like to make progress

Summer screen nowhere as good as the full size I reckon ...I only put screen on when travelling. Around town and short trips it stays hanging on the wall.

full screen isnt for me , i have seen smaller roofs on houses , each to his own mate ;)
I use all three depending on projected weather. On long trips I will take a larger screen and tuck the sport screen in my knap sack so I can swap out when I hit my destination. I think the small sport screen is great but then I am a small feller (fat right now at 163 lbs. So I fit behind it better. I wish we had a autobahn here. I have got to run at high speeds for 6 to 10 miles but it happens so quick I do not have ime to notice my arms hurting before I slow down for a town. But then I am running a wee bit faster the 120 mph in fat soem times I see 0 mph again the second time around :D

Tha bug shield was the first thing to go when i bought the Rocket back in 2005. I'm 6'2" and weigh well over 200lbs and at high speeds i was almost blown off the bike. I bought the summer screen and it works well for me. It's not as tall as the standard harley screens but does the trick without the bulk..

I ride the autobahn with a full face helmet and no screen at all... At about 120 mph the wind becomes too much, but I hate going that fast with other drivers around anyway... Truthfully I try to avoid the Autobahn. German backroads are MUCH more fun.
