Too much slack between neutral and first????

I'm going out on a limb, and predict that the silly little bolt on the shifter drum is coming loose......

I was thinking that but did not want to worry you know who.

all i know about it is what i have read on this site
but it sounds like a big job as i remember.
if it is like mine it will still be doing that 10 years from now.

biggest problem if it pops out of 1st when turning is someone not paying attension running you over
when it appen to me you have to straighten it up then put it back into first without falling over and that takes a little time.

We might as well open it up when i come out , it will only take 25 hours if we both work hard.
