Hi There I cut 7 mm off my side stand with a battery grinder with a 1mm cutting disc and it made quite a difference when parked I did this while the stand was on the bike and the bike was on a trolley jack
Kind Regards
Mark
Did you do anything to broaden the base (already fairly small)? In hindsight, was 7mm about right- go less or more? Thanks

Hi There 7 mm was what i cut off but if i had to do it again i would cut off 6 mm and i didnt make the foot any bigger and have had no problems .The bike sits alot better now and wont look like it is going to blow over .

Glad to have your advice. I would have taken off a lot more. My geometry skills were never that good. I've been meaning to do this for a long time....

The side stand keeping the bike too upright is something us Hayabusa owners have suffered from, there is a cheap and cheerful mod where by you remove a couple of mm where the stand meets the bracket. Side Stand mod I've had a quick look at my Rocket GT, it certainly looks doable.

Sweet!

I had a machine shop make an adapter plate so I could use the jiffy stand from a Harley Pan America. The first version was too flat and I tried using different springs but the stand is all steel and too heavy. Version2 spaced the jiffy stand out enough to use the stock Harley spring. It gives me a couple of more degrees of lean and since it is a jiffy stand it locks in place when the weight of the bike is on it. I'll get the bike out tomorrow and get some pics of it - it blends in nicely and looks like it belongs there, IMO.

That pic (or one like it) and the fact that I go to Daytona twice a year and the spots to park on Main street have a downward angle towards the road is why I decided to go with a jiffy stand. Here are the pics of the Version 2 install. It gives me a few more degrees of lean and I have the added comfort of knowing the stand is locked down so if someone bumps the bike from behind it is not going to fold up.
