Run premium fuel?

When I had my 2015 Victory Cross Country tuned he spent 2+ hours on fuel and THEN started adjusting the timing. He would advance , do a pull, advance, do a pull and so on. At one point the bike started to lose performance and it wasn't pinging so that goes to show that just messing with timing doesn't always benefit performance after a certain point. Very fascinating process to watch.

If u start retarding the timming then it will keep losing power with out pinging till it wont even start.
59 bsa 13 to 1 pistons so far advanced that sometimes it would back fire before you would get the kick lever to the bottom of the stroke and try to launch u over the bars.
I ran this machine on the street and even went to Californa and lived for a while.

I would think that you would work with both fuel and timming equal at first.
Having timming set for final fuel.
Of coarse that is the old school in me.
May be things have changed i have been doing it wrong all these years
It may sound like i have taken offence of what was said and that is because i did. Lol

I do have a problem explaining.
Thats what i am talking about the sweet spot the timming not to advanced for the type of fuel and mixture you r using.

I don't know where in service manual I saw 89 octane minimum, but scrolling through manual looking at other stuff found unambiguous section on fuel requirements for the new rockets. The ron figure is for all countries EXCEPT US. Posting screen shot below. Pg 591.
87 octane. I'm running 1st tank and think it is a tad more responsive, like going from rider to sport mode. May just be perception, but doubt it.

Different manual. Yours is an OWNERS MANUAL. Mine SERVICE manual.

It is odd that the manufacturer has confusing instructions. I do not like this mixed up fuel recommendations.

Honestly, it’s only on page 15 where it is describing a sticker on the tank that it shows the lower octane. On page 80 it states 95 RON minimum, and describes fuel type in detail. And the service manual says the same. Anyone still have their sticker so we can see what it actually says?
