Rode a Victory Cross Country this afternoon...

Yup, I see later model Buells for under $2000 around here.

Approx. the same weight as a Rocket 3, half the power and half the torque but probably still a nice ride.
I've ridden the Audace model. And I have a mate with the full blown "touring" version. They handle well.
The weird tyre sizes on the MGX-21 are a major downside in my books.

It has one thing that I like though it is electrickery (and thus heretical). It has 3 modes/maps.
Sport which is pretty much how I'd leave it most of the time.
Tour which is a bit dull after an R3. But for distance is calming.
And Rain which is VERY confidence inspiring when the roads are cruddy.

I very nearly bought a Victory Vision - still like how they look. Victory "Cross" baggers have MASSIVE cases.

BUT were I to buy another new bike now - it would be closer to a Triumph Trophy.

I like Guzzis a lot - but would not buy anything from the current stable.

Then there are people like me, who are gentle with their bikes, ride like grandpas, and still have stuff break.

2300 ccs of combustion volume creates a ton of heat! I've ridden lots of Vtwins that "felt" cooler. The Voyager with the KAMS I/we were talking about managed "felt" heat better than any motorcycle I've ever been on. The Rocket isn't even in the neighborhood much less the ballpark.

As far as heat in general; 1 gallon of gas equals 114,000 BTUs. The faster you burn it the more heat you make.

Now you've gone and changed from "Vtwin" to "air cooled cruiser". Next you're gonna specify 'bikes with lower fairings'. LOL!

I GUESS if bought the Carpenter kit, even the sun on a summers day would feel cooler. Or would I have to spray lemon pledge on it too!
