Rockets Across America III

I'm getting around 37-38 mpg on my R3T. It's completely stock, although I did *looks around* stash a small bottle of vanilla extract (for dabbing a dash behind my ears on long rides) in one of the saddlebags, er, I mean *panniers*.

Bear's mileage decreased after putting the Jardine pipes on his bike. But I am pretty sure it improved again after he had to do the PC Commander thing because of the stalling problem he had.

Although last time we rode he had better mileage than I did. Our friend Dennis and I got a little heavy on the throttles:D during a part of our ride. Bear  says he was flashing his lights at us saying that 140mph was too fast for us to be riding. Question I have is how many of you actually watch your rear view mirrors when you are flying that fast? I don't because that second I take my eyes off of where I am heading at such a speed a pretty little  white tail deer :eek:will run out in front of me.

You ain't got Panniers. Panniers is an English word thats descriptive to leather saddlebags.

What you have is luggage boxes, not Panniers.

That weenie motor should deliver 50 considering it's state of castriation.:D

Mine ain't ever seen 40 mpg, not even when I was goin real slow teaching the wife to ride the brother-in-laws duece. n fact, now that I think about it,it seems like it gets about 35 no matter how I ride, at least up to 125 or 130, then my mileage drops alittle..
I was just lurking on the Texas E.S. thread but since I can't post there, I'll just comment here. As far as a patch or pin goes, the nice folks at Cartiers pins and patchs (in Texas) said they need about four-six weeks to make them up, so we need to get on the ball. Any input anyone?

Greet and Meet Location

By my calculations it is less than a month until the "Gathering" begins. Maybe I missed it in one of the earlier posts but has a meeting location been set since we are all staying at different lodgings? Piano and Pigger have done a terrific job of " herding cats" for RAA3. If not for them we would still be discussing when and where. If something is already set, I will wait for the final schedule. If not I would suggest a location be set for Friday night September 5th to meet, since most of us will be arriving on that date. A shopping center, public park, bar, or in this case an old age home would work great. You should be able to recognize me, I will be on a red Rocket wearing a name tag that says "My Name is George and I Ride Bus #6". BYW, that's the short bus.
