Rockets Across America II - 2007

Flip

Not Halliburton anymore, KBR is on it's own. Will miss the money, it made it easier to pay off some bills, pay cash for a new back room on the house and get both the Gold Wing and the Rocket (along with two Ford Focus's and a Mazda 6), ....still gotta pay for them, good thing got the 'ol Navy retirement coming in to help, wife still teaches, still have to bring in a little income to help out. Wish we did get "uplift" for working in the US, driving to work is a lot more dangerous (which is why we get it in Iraq, Afghanistan and Djibouti)at home than it ever has been over here.

Um

League city 863 miles. I feel numb already.

Hey Raymond who thiks they are going to make it from the east side. I know Flip is trying but if he can't who is from the eastway.???

I haven't even spoken to the wife about this yet. I would doubt I could make it though. I am going away next weekend to attend the Great Smokey Mountain Raid in NC. I am not sure how many kitchen passes she gives since we are newlyweds :D.

By the way, if you haven't made it to western North Carolina and/or eastern Tennessee it is truly motorcycling paradise. The roads are so enjoyable I want to move there desperately! Check out some of the nice rides listed on Triumph's website...

You can have TN. My mom has lived there for 15 years and I visit twice a year. I agree the land scape and smokey mountion riding is wonderful but I can't stand the tic's and bugs and humidity there. I'll stick to visiting.

Molioman: Would be great to hook up with you. I think all of us have very much enjoyed staying in touch with you while you have been on tour of duty!

Vonbonds: You iron butted to Baltimore from Sedalia last year. This will be a walk in the park. Put that new bride on the back of the Rocket and get to Nashville. It's not until July man.

Snuff: The Texas contingency could be strong. Hope you can hook up with Paul, then hook up with me and ToystoreTom in Memphis.

Britman: Get off the fence and commit, this is one you don't want to miss!!!

OK

I was just wondering, because if we weren't gong to have any east coaster we could move it weat a little like to Hot springs. I just relived it is going to be 860 miles form me. Oh well. Ride baby ride.

Well I'll be if it hadn't been from my friend from the other side of the planet I may have never seen this little get together you guys are cooking up. Hmmm looks a might interesting if I do say so myself. Seeing as my soon to be neighbor comes back may be able to tag along and keep him out of trouble. Yea, sounds like a nice idea...

That's a shame

It's pretty sad (if I am, in fact, able to make it) that there are two riders from poor 'lil pcola which looks like it almost ties the participants from some whole states. Any others in the Panhandle thinking of doing this? Supposedly a lot of Rockets have been leaving the sales floor at D&D Cycles in the last year, we should be able to get a few more in on this.
Already told (I mean....suggested to) my wife I was planning on going if no job interfered with that weekend, I guess I could always show up a little late in Nashville on that Friday.
My main concern is that FL Pre-licensing class I "might" be instructing may take place that weekend...haven't seen the schedule and I may not be certified yet, so we'll see. If I am certified and there is a class, probably won't go as it starts at 5:05 pm to 10 pm for just the Friday night part and continues on Saturday 1 pm to 6:30 pm and Sunday 8 am to 6 pm. I should know a lot more my first week back around the third week in May.
