I've been looking for black footboards for the pillion on my r3r as my wife has trouble with dodgy knees, and was finding balancing on the standard footrest while getting on and off a bit risky.
I found these Kuryakyn ones, which fit fine and have adjustable mounts fore and aft,(5 positions) and also can rotate on splines from horizontal if needed.
All that's needed is to remove the folding footrest from the original mount by removing the pivot pin, and fit the Kuryakin boards on the adapter into the gap . Put the pin back (or replace with an allen bolt) - job done!
And I can put back the original footrests if I don't want the boards on in 5 min.
Cost in UK , incl the adapters, was £165 delivered from Metric Cruisers
Codes - Kuryakyn Ribbed driver and passenger footboards 4357 (pair) with Splined adapter mounts 8808 (pair)

Did the same but mounted them "backwards" to move the boss's feet a few inches forward. She said it was more comfy

I purchased the 4357 and 8808 based on these posts and for the same reason...the wife. I went to install them and noticed there seemed to be no way to prevent the entire until from flipping up as the old peg does. Am I missing something? It would be stable with passenger on but without I am afraid it would be unstable and bounce around a bit.

Any help would be most appreciated.

They will pivot on the original mounts, but not easily. Mine seem to stay where I put them when the wife isn't on the back.

Sure would be great if someone would invent a floorboard kit to move the foot location back out where it needs to be.

I am assuming there is nothing available in regards to any kind of a kit as I would like to put floorboards on the front but the brake pedal seems to be the challenge. I cant figure out what to do with the brake pedal based on its stock position. I may start another thread for some assitance on that.
