6000kms on an Bridgestone Exedra G7-something and maybe 500kms more on the Exedra rear and both are showing signs of cupping and wear on RHS of both tyres. I conclude after researching the topic the following:

If two identical bikes with same tyres were ridden by two different riders, they probably would have a different tire wear pattern. The one with more cupping would indicate that the rider actually rides the bike. There's nothing wrong with the tyres, or the bike.

I'm happy with that, but not happy about sinking another $800 with only 6000ks on the rubber. Might get another 500-750kms out of them if I'm lucky.

That plus CTP at $600 per year....Rocket for Sale.

Yeah you're right loftybob, I do love riding it but 6000kms, man - just can't get my head around that. Oh well..we press on, and on an angle :)
Jeez what you whingeing about, 6000 km is awesome for a rear m/bike tyre, especially with the weight, power and torque available. Back in the 80's you would be lucky to get half that with much less weight and half the power and torque.

Just got the EXEDRA MAX in today. To **** tired to take tire off of bike plus running out of daylight. Spent the day with tune ecu and adjusting throttles and getting the right voltage out of everything. Found out that I can hang in 100 degree plus heat but the laptop can not. #ucking thing. Took the day off work to get all this done. Once the sun started down and the shade took over the laptop started to work. Plan on getting the back tire off in the morning so wife can take it to the Honda dealership and get the new tire mounted. New front tire should be in tomorrow. This means getting the back tire mounted Wednesday and getting the front tire off Thursday so she can take it on up and get the front tire mounted. Hopefully new pipes show up soon. Eat #hit and breath. It is lonely to be (apparently) the only person in my alternate universe who does not hate the Metzlers.

Outstanding mileage and good wear with bias 880's on my Concours. Reasonably good wear on the Goldwing, some cupping on the front with radials.

On the Rocket, the Metzlers felt great on the test drive. At 7,100, front and rear are toast. Cupping on front, and front rear bald. Lost the confidence in them early on.

I hope the Avons will grip decently in the cold and wet here in the Northwest. Not many riding days from October-April even hit 50 degrees F. Give them a shot.

I believe @barbagris has posted that the Metzlers are a cold weather and wet optimised rubber compound that does not suit high temps conversely I believe he said that the Avons and Exedra radials are not noted cold weather performers. In my view 5000 mile (8000km) is great mileage on a heavy bike with the Rockets power etc and if your happy with them in cold wet weather stick to them.
