Removing Secondary Butterfliesin

As I recall, the TORS tune uses the secondary butterflies to make the mix richer. It doesn't actually add much if any fuel. If you get the TORS tune loaded and also remove secondary butterflies you are most likely making the bike run even leaner. Also, because you have to remove the stock air box plenum to get at the butterflies you should consider taking the opportunity to put on either triple filters or something like the (improved) Ramair. If you're not sure why, have a go at reinstalling that piece of plastic from hell.

You will need to add fuel even if you only do some of the above. Power Commander, Dobeck or TuneECU (or TuneBoy) are your best options there.

By the way, @warp9.9 , it sounds like yours is an older GIPro (not displaying with clutch in) and may not include the ATRE feature.

I WOULD LEAVE THE 2NDS IN THERE AND WORK WITH THE ECU BECAUSE IF YOU TAKE THEM OUT (IMHO) sorry about caps and don't set the comp 100% open then you have a comp making adjustments based on 2nds set at aprx 30% to 50%. how good would that be. seems to me it might be lean and have hesitation.
i guess my words would be why take the chance.
You need to also set the secondaries at 100% open even if you do remove them so the ECU doesn't get its knickers in a knot trying to work out correct fuel

If you want it to wheelie like a MF'R take them out ! If you wait for the computer to open them there is still a lag I didn't like. Mine have been removed for 5 years and 40,000 miles.

that is the point i was trying to make but you said it better. i am a good mechanic but a terrible writer.

Hmmm, I didn't know that made a difference over opening them via computer. Time to take those useless appendages out!

cool I do not need it as my bike was tuned on a dyno.

first mod I made that and the K&N 2780 followed by cat delete then I discovered my friend TuneECU and found even more power and neck snapping response :D
