I brought the Softail in post 134 of this thread in 1990. Sold it in 2010 when I brought my Rocket

I done a lot of miles on mine, never let me down.

Was $14711.00 with 12 months rego. Sold it for $14700.00 with 4 days rego on it 20 years later. Bloke I went to school with brought it's twin and still has it in original condition 25 years later.

The key for me seems to be mileage and not so much the time I own the motor.
If one rides 15K miles or more a year, it don't take long to wear stuff out.
