You certainly don’t need titanium valves to go fast! They are lighter of course and only have any genuine value in the highest rpm range. Don’t get me wrong, I’d take a free set, but they don’t make any power by themselves.

The titanium valves are not meant for (more)power but reducing massweight of the valves in higher rpmrange.

I will ask the parts dept

After a good nightsleep I think swapping steel-titanium valves for a 2300 won't fly. :( Cause the 2500 cylinderhead should be wider than a 2300 one.
I'm curious what the parts dept will tell you.

Ti valves have been added to the 2.3l motors. They obviously weren’t Triumph spec parts, but the engine builders always seem to figure what will work with smallish modifications.

I totally get why they are used. No seriously! All I was attempting (unsuccessful I see) is pointing out that if your bike didn’t come with them, it’s not a big deal.

The parts dept can look up the new Rocket valves and see if they use the TI vaves in all the new Rockets

While your checking with the parts department have them look up the valve shims. I'd like to know if they finally switched to under the bucket shims.

So are the cams directly on top of the valves? Do the lobes of the cam act directly on the valve stem bucket? If so then that would limit the opening rate of the valve compared to a valve actuating system that is rollerized. A roller cam profile would be able to open the valve much quicker (much steeper lift ramp) and that would be where a titanium valve would really be an advantage based on it's lighter weight.

No matter what you do to a Diavel or VMax they will never be a Triumph.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I just love and hate the discussions of money and toys. Purchasing toys, in general, is a poor financial decision. You are spending money for pleasure only therefore hedonism is the driving motive. This is not sound long range financial planning. So the whole is it worth is question is to subjective to be applied equally to different individuals. Now is buying collectables fiscally sound? This is way to speculative to answer and time will tell but in general even limited editions motorcycles depreciate.

I do not buy a bike just for the power or the uniqueness or the beauty alone but all those factors and more in combination. I also buy one because I can and not hurt the bottom line for my family. I know full well I am throwing money down the money pit hole and seem to enjoy it.o_O

Now back to the issue of power or lack there of I'll say it might be able to live with it for a while.;) The most interesting question will be which bike would I prefer most often and which would I sell if I did decide to liquidate one, the old 203 hp bike or the new "weak" 157 hp TFC?

Well put, I do not buy a bike just for the power or the uniqueness or the beauty alone but all those factors and more in combination. I also buy one because I can and not hurt the bottom line for my family. I know full well I am throwing money down the money pit hole and seem to enjoy it. Don't know how many more years of riding left in me
