RAMAIR Filters bespoke Rocket-3 underclaw filter.


I know this. they used the bypass catalytic converter exhaust on my bike. they could not get the power commander to work for crap. I have no idea why. but the map that was put on my ECU worked better. I topped out at 139mph with the pcIII. I topped out at 143mph with it unplugged. I used a Garmin GPS to track and compare my speeds. The pcIII would race the rev up to 2000 rpms. my bike went from 12.1 in the quarter to 11.5 without the pcIII. My question is forgetting about the pcIII. Do you have a tune that will work like you said? my email is outriders58@gmail.com
 
As I said the PCIII was crap not in the same league as the PCV

ok thank you. is the tune for the ECU as good as the PCV, or do you feel the PCV would be better. I have to wait on that i can't afford the PCV as of yet.
 
The TuneECU tunes are good but are done on someone else's bike so to get the most from it you would need to find a dyno guy that can use TuneECU software, it will be good enough
The PCV + AT will follow a AFR map which I have developed, it uses a wide band O2 sensor and reads the exhaust gases and tunes according
 
I've just read every post in this thread (on & off over the past couple days.) I just received my bike this week. I bought it from Bob Carpenter who apparently had it for quite awhile (29 miles on the ODO when it arrived.) It's 2008 model with his "210+" work done to it along with his pipe (since polished, compared with the picture.)
Although Bob left the air filter in the box, he removed the snorkel and air plenum from the the bike -so if I ride it will be filter-less. I am not comfortable with this set up. I am looking for longevity, but I also would like maintain the power that Bob put into my bike.
The dyno sheet that Bob sent with the bike shows 227.51 HP and 177.15 lb. ft of twist.
Any thoughts on how the RamAir will affect these numbers? Or any thoughts on other air filters I might use? No matter the power losses, I will be installing an air filter (I can always remove it for track days.)

I'd go with the Ramair unless you are prepared to have the larger RX 4040-1 type K&N's which stick out a little, I run them and don't have problem with sticking out but they are about the only filters that will move more air from what I can gather

That's the way I'm leaning as I prefer to leave the bear-claw on rather than remove it and need to relocate the coolant res. I rather like the look of the bear-claw as opposed to exposed filters. (Unless the RX 4040-1 K&N's fit under the claw)
 
Hey HansO, do you think I would need to re-map the PCV after the RamAir is installed?
 
Are you running a Auto Tune on it? if not you may find it a tad richer then it needs to be if it was set up for running with out filters, if you were to add a Auto Tune module it will then follow the map in the PCV and correct the fuelling to suit having a filter on there
