Sonny; off topic with apologies for hijacking... The yoke bearings that were recently replaced seem to be loose. Is this normal? For me, the weight of the R3 made it difficult to diagnose the problem without disassembly so I took it to the shop. Any comments or observations will be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas brother. Se'ya in Richwood. Stopping in Little Switzerland to check it out. Looks like an alternative to Durango with wife Cathy.
I'm drunk from working on the boat but will try to help. Yoke bearings when installed correctly do not slip. Did they replace the races? IMG_0456 (1).JPG top view one on bottom also. They have to be replaced as a set due to wear. New bearings new races if not your pissing in the wind. Plus the bearings have to be greased packed the old school way. By hand and palm. I use lucas green grease works rather well and holds up to moisture Most shops unless you are specific will screw you under. Just replace the bearings. The rocket is weak on the steering head bearings . If you do not pay attention and follow the rules you're screwed. There is no need to adjust tighter than how the manual calls out if the job was done right. Yes after a few thousand miles the bearing adjustment should be checked as prescribed in the manual. They do settle in and minor adjustment is required. Break end period. Hope this helps my friend:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:.

I'm A far cry from perfect. Have had my fair shares off screw ups. Just know a bit after making some mistakes in the past and learned from them. Anytime i can help out a fellow rider i will. Spent the better time this morning helping out a guy from the bay area. Wife says why are you on the computer when all you talk about is working on the boat. Guy needs some help and will walk him through it boat can wait. I do not try to play the dog. Really tired and feeling good. It has been a good day. Guessing since your already verbal trying to one up you will continue. Really don't give a ****.

The races and bearings came in a kit. They have less than 2000 miles on them. We'll see what the shop say. Thank you.

Fwiw, I just replaced my head bearings with Allballs, didn't cure the high speed weave on my Touring, I think it's frame flex and Triumph knew, why the Touring has a speed limiter and not standards or Roadsters. Tire story be ****ed.

I changed mine because the forks were getting seals and I said, why not... Inserted the AllBalls. All was well and then suddenly it started playing while braking. One day, I dropped into a turn and it felt like the bike fell off a ledge. To the shop it went. It don't take much play to make a big change. We'll see what the tech finds and how they are going to treat the fix $$$??
