We had the clutch cover off the bike and found the detent spring is broken. The technician took pics of the damage which I have added to your open case with Triumph. Unfortunately they are closed over the weekend, so I will not hear a response until Monday at the earliest. I am off on Monday’s so I will send you their response as soon as I return. Your machine is still under stock factory warranty and labor along with parts are covered by the manufacturer for warrantable items. The only “gray” area is with diagnostic time. Most manufacturers don’t cover any. Triumph covers 1 hour. We do not have any additional diagnostic time in your bike beyond that one hour at this time.

Although this diagnosis is probably correct and definitely cheaper than a major transmission tear-down, the whole handling of this mess has left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. It has soured my opinion of the Triumph company and has cast doubts upon this dealer.
