looking forward to seeing what kind of numbers your exhaust will produce. Any idea on when they may be available?

Kmutt, and everyone else, I am just glad to help fellow Rocket riders. AND I am tired of hearing how the Touring models will barely outrun Harleys. This should change the game for many of you and may be all you need for performance for a while.

Give me a little time to finish up the testing on the new exhaust and intake and we will really change the bolt-on performance results. ;)

Thanks, but I don't understand the guys that can barely outrun Harleys:confused:

I bought the accessory mufflers, added the different tune in 2008 from the dealer, added a K&N 2 years ago. I have not ever seen a stock Harley that I couldn't mop the floor with and my buddy has a goldwing that I can still pull away from.

Thanks for the links, I may try this as I am ready for something new.

A stock R3T, although big on torque, does lack in the HP department. I do agree with Tripp on this as I have had to keep the RPM's up a little before shifitng to ensure I outrun a Harley that has been tuned. Usually they are running stage 3 kits and have stripped the bike of all weight......usually its the smaller harleys that can give a stock R3T a run.......I have yet to lose (dont really race em that much) but I do have a buddy with a hopped up Dyna that is itching to have a friendly jaunt down the street. This will definitely seal the deal! :D

I raced a street glide about a month ago that a guy paid 47K because of the motor work that had been done, he was more impressed that was.:D

I guess they dont know how to tune HD's around here have not had any really try to race my touring but with out tiring they cant keep up so most have got a good set up when I did it I do need to make a trip down to you wayne and see if you can get more out of my set up I'm happy with it but could all ways use more

So, the way I read this is; it really doesn't matter what we (I) do to the touring until I change the exhaust completely. With the TORS or D&Ds, and K&Ns or not, the power will essentially be the same. So all I really need to do is put the TORS on for now, retune it, wait until I can get some headers, and then do the K&Ns and retune for more power. I think I have it. Now to go read up on tunes. ;)

Thanks for doing this Wayne. This takes all of the black magic out of it, and makes it so simple to understand, and also more affordable to do. The one thing that has bugged me since getting the touring has been the "lack" of power, especially when reading about the roadster and classic. This will get the touring more in line with what I expected. Then once I get the headers, and do the retune for them, it should get even better. But, for now, it is a quick and simple way to get more oomph.

thanks

Just happy to help Bob, but thanks for the appreciation.

For comparison on my dyno, stock Roadsters tend to make 96 hp and stock standards and Classics tend to produce 104-105hp. All make similar torque in stock form.

With Jardines and three RU-2780 air filters under the BearClaw they all make ~140 ft-lb of torque, and 135-136 hp after mapping/tuning. Unfortunately the Jardine system is no longer available.
Sam's Predator pipes make about 5 hp more. Again, no longer available.

I hope this helps.

torque and remap question

This looks really exciting, I thought the Touring map was optimized for torque - does this reduce it at the lower rpms/gears for a horsepower increase?
