So just to update all the Rocketeers who have or are presently looking for a different exhaust for our beasts, I will be coming up to RRA X with something new. What we have been doing is a cross-over with several muffler applications. 3.5" and 4" mufflers and now a version that maintains the front heat/chrome shields. And still working on getting Roadster version needing OEM parts. Ride when you can but always stay safe.

Send pics and mp3 please:D

In response to Glakesbiker...unfortunately, I haven't installed the D&D's, yet. I got called out on a contracting job (I'm supposed to be retired) and just ran out of time. I'm back home, but headed out overseas Thursday. Now I'll have to wait until mid-June when I get back.

Be safe.

OP update...

I've ordered the D&D slip ons. My plan is to install them without the baffles and see how the monster runs. If there is decel popping or it's too obnoxious (is that a thing?) I'll re-install the baffles. I'm theorizing, based on other posts and the D&D website, that it's easier to remove the D&D baffles while they are off the bike and easier to re-install when on the bike.... so I'm hoping (crossed fingers) that my plan will work out ok.

The first thing I did when I got the bike was install the Power-Tripp tune (which is awesome! ... four words; dead - stock - accidental - wheelie!) so I'm hoping that it will work well with D&D sans baffles.

I totally respect the guys that are pushing this bike to the max and adding full exhaust systems, custom intakes and tunes, but I'm totally satisfied with the output of this bike with basic mods. So, a tip of the hat to those that go above and beyond, but I'm good with crushing 95% of the market with 130+ ft lbs torque and 115+ rw hp..... That, and I just can't convince myself to part with $2k + USD for a Carpenter system... as awesome as it is.

More to follow.

It's going to be obnoxious, and quite illegally loud, with essentially straight pipes. You should use the baffles, in my opinion.

Also, the tune is not entirely appropriate for if you increase airflow through the bike, it probably needs something that accounts for that. The Power-tripp tune is actually for the stock bike, it just removes the strange and insane changes Triumph made to the map on the Touring to make it less scary to Harley pilots or whatever. :)

Now that the Ramair filter has been redesigned, you'd probably have a great combo in adding that plus D&D. And then a tweaked variant of the Power-tripp tune that adds a bit more fuel to the mix.

Thanks everyone for the detailed info!
I am on the verge of making my decision for which way to go on my exhaust. I have the usb cable on order and will be applying the Power Tripp tune next week (excited about that). But then which way do I go on exhaust?

Here are what I'm considering:
- The TORS seem the easiest and cheapest. But if I want extra power down the road it is just throwing away money when I replace it
- The capenter exhaust is nice but I worry it won't be as shiny because it is polished steel instead of chromed steel (am I wrong here?). Also is the fact that it is not double walled a problem?
- D&D are really expensive in Canada

The biggest question I have yet to answer is, are the TORS loud enough? Does anyone have any sound samples of TORS vs D&D vs Carpenter, anyone have any thought of the volume of TORS? Obviously, the R3T will never sound like a Harley, and I don't want it to, but I do want to get more of a thump than I have stock, never met a bike that was too loud for me yet

Polished steel is great. I have a polished stainless radiator embellisher that looks great, it's basically a mirror. And the advantage of that is that you can always polish it back up if it doesn't look pristine since it's steel, not rather more fragile chrome. I haven't yet heard the differences between the ones you ask about so can't really comment on noise levels, except to say that essentially straight pipes will make the neighbors hate you. :)

I never liked my neighbors anyway ;)

The TORS are not particularly loud, they do have a deeper, more full sound, better than the originals for sure. I too am a music while riding guy, I can here the exhaust just fine and my tunes. If you want louder, go with one of the others. WHere in Canada are you?

I'm on ottawa
I'm in Kemptville, Cecil, another new member is coming out to my place Saturday morning so we can load the deristricting map onto his R3T, we both have the TORS on, if you want to come out and listen first hand, your welcome to, PM me if you want and I'll give you the address.
