R3 Brake Replacement

Remove the 2 little clips, pull the 2 pins, remove the old pads, wiggle in the new ones, replace the pins and clips. Really simple.
All that and don't forget to push the pistons back first before removing old pads I find that the best way to go about this to first get a can of Brake cleaner and spray from every direction you can while scrubing with a old tooth brush to clean the pistons and caliper as best you can then using a pair of flat blade screw drivers gentle work the pistons as far back into the caliper as possible(be carefull to not scrore the disk surface), Then remove Clips pull Locating Pins giving them a good clean while you are at it, remove pads again try and spray brake cleaner inside caliper as best you can and dont be scared to waste a bit more Brake cleaner to clean in there as best you can now is also a good time to get some fine wet and dry paper to take the shine of both sides of the disk again finish with more brake cleaner on disk let air dry and install new pads making sure the tabs fit into recese and Pins freely locate the pad in the correct position re insert clips give the brakes a few good pumps to bring them back up and take it for a run gently testing them then bed in

Thanks for the info guys I'm gonna give it a crack . I'm always a little nervous when it comes to brakes but it sounds fairly simple so I should be ok with it . Hope it stops after lol

Guys for Future reference do as I do keep a spare set in Shed and get them Of Flipmiesters cost Same for a full set Front and Rear as the Local dealers wanted For just Rear:eek:
I keep a spare set so you don't have to run the risk of running out of brakes or chewing up your disk and check them monthly, don't wait for them to go metal to metal like someone else did recently, I wont mention names but he knows who he is;)

I confess to not being quite as carefull as Hanso. Also I'd let them wear down just a tad too far.

I should have added that I found that just by pushing the old pads apart a little before removing them that the pistons opened up just enough. Just used my fingers but you could use a screw driver. I then put the inside pad in first - pushed on the caliper a little (in towards the wheel) to leave room. Then pulled the cliper out and jiggled the outside pad in. No brute force needed.

I can't stress enought about cleaning with brake cleaner spray so you don't end up with Sticking pistons and I didn't need any brute force just gentle pressure

Front or rear brakes? I boiled my rear brakes at Magie Valley. I thought the rear pads were gone. Skip and I looked at them, and the pads were fine. Deanna and some dude told me to stop using the rears so much. It has been different, trying to use the fronts more. Just a little FYI.
Yea, welcome to the sight. We got some killer belt buckles and a ring that is going to be BAD ASSK! (we try not cuss)
Kid

Ratboy and wife taught me to gear down at RAAIV. Let the motor slow you down. Don't worry about the sound (if it is loud). You don't have to use the brakes nearly as much.

Wow can't believe how easy that was went and got some pads from Brisbane motor cycle tires and picked up a can of brake cleaner and wet rub paper on the way home gave them a good clean pulled the oldies out cleaned the pistons thoroughly bunged the newies in and took her for a spin no probs . Can't believe I was paying the stealership for that lol. I'm guessing the front isn't hard either?
