R3 Brake Replacement

forgot to mention this is the Fourth bike I have had them on a Kawasaki GPZ 900, Honda VFR800, Honda ST1100 and now the Rocket and very happy:D

I'm an organic pad guy myself, would rather replace pads all day long then put a single scratch on a rotor. Especially since they are so easy to replace, the rears can be removed with your fingers and replaced in 3 minutes.

Just replaced my rear pads again today (3rd set in 17,000 miles), took 3 minutes with no tools.
It's amazing how paper thin the **** pads are to start with, it's no wonder they don't last long. I went with Flips brand of sintered pads this time, haven't ridden it yet and wonder if they will be quieter than the last set. Those last ones made a sound like being chased by crickets when applied. :p LOL

Still on the original front pads, have taken them out to clean 'em once before ... they are much thicker to start with than the rear.

Changing the brake pads only takes about 60 seconds getting the saddle bag off seems to take forever. They are good brake pads using myself.
just fitted Australian made Stainless Steel copy of Ghost brackets it is now turn a key and lift off instead of 5 bolts just to get 1 bag of and then you still have the frame sitting there, mounted the G/brackets directly to back of bag, no more frame, looks good:D

Sorry to Hijack, what brand are your brackets HANSO?
they are made by Bibblebar his # is 0427 943 302 I forgot to mention that to fit them to my bags I had to cut the front lower corner off them, no big deal they were $175 plus postage from QLD website is www.bibblebar.com lot of good gear, from memory it was $199 delivered, very prompt delivery:)

Going to change my rear brake pads on the weekend . First time I've done it myself so any advise is appreciated . Sounds fairly simple from what u guys have said .

Remove the 2 little clips, pull the 2 pins, remove the old pads, wiggle in the new ones, replace the pins and clips. Really simple.
