Proud owner of 2 Rockets

2005 was a good year....:cool::ninja:;)
Actually it seems 2005 was a good year. My 05 has been a great bike. Other than replacing the TPS a couple of times and one clutch cable it hasn't had any issues other than normal wear and tear. It has been run hard most of those miles and that's the reason why I bought another. I'll check into the filter. I never thought of the obvious.
Thanks guys!

A melted cat, or somehow restricted exhaust flow, would give similar symptoms. I'm with Fred at this stage though....clean that fuel filter...:thumbsup:

OK. I've had a little time to check things out on my 08 Rocket. No plugged fuel filter, no exhaust restrictions, no intake restrictions. I don't have the wherewithal to check the tune myself but I may take a ride to a dealer and have them check for me. I'll let you guys know if anything if found.
I needed an excuse to take an afternoon off and ride anyway. Summers in Minnesota can be too short!

Have you checked the timing? I also own 2 rockets, both 05s, one has about 50% less torque than the other one, after much investigation and talking to a few members here seems like we found the problem,
they belive that the timing is off, talked to a dealer in Texas over the phone and they told me the exact same thing, according to the dealer, when an inexperienced technitian adjusts the valves if is not put back together correctly it retards the cams causing the timing to move, or something around that line, will check mine this weekend and hopefully that will take care of it.
Lucky for us that we have some members here that are more knowlegeable than most Triump mechanics, but will let them chime in with their opinions:)

When I had to time to chat with the tech at Baxters he did tell me he had seen new rockets with the timing off also. (this was pre-roadster and alas Gus is riding a big beast in heaven now). Good knowledgeable chap tho!!!!! Its easy to do especially if there is some back lash that's not been taken into consideration. it can be checked without really tearing the whole thing apart its a little work but better then pulling the radiator and the rest of the stuff until you have to.
