I have the 412's in 13" but you should go 13" regardless unless you go 412's and are a short or small person
I have had myself (280lbs) and some other people on the back who are similar in size to me and all i needed was one more tick on the shocks to ride properly.
IMO there is no reason to go with the 444's unless you have 2 up ALL THE TIME with big people like myself or you are a VERY big person and you have stuff bolted on loaded to the max.
I will add that if you have the $$$ go with the 444's because race bike, they are a better ride due to the on the fly shock dynamically adjust damping but i think that part is more a gimmick than you think and im not sure if anyone here has actually tried them all out to compare the ride difference with anything other than their butt dyno.
DO not be fooled into thinking you need more if you are NOT carrying MORE every time you ride.

Hello, what do you mean by 'one more tick on the shocks to ride properly'? I'm not a native English speaker...:))))

With RESPECT,
I have ran both of these shocks on 2 different Rocket IIIs. I am here to say, IF you truly ride hard in the twisties, NEVER buy the 412s.

Mean I ride hard... But I'm not popping wheelies 412s and I'm 280lbs.. no issues but maybe I could have a better ride.. idk.. all my motorcycles are sketchy and I'm used to 1980s soft mad cow suspension so maybe I'm just happy with the rocket and the 412s. I ride hard enough to eat tireswith nearly no chicken strips so....
Look if your taking the rocket to a track... The 412s probably not the right setup. But track is so far off the line from street I do not compare them.

If you are happy, no problema, Amigo!
The 412s are not performance shocks and will limit what you can safely do in the twisties. If you ride as stated, you are really missing out and leaving better use of your skills on the table. Just sayin' . . . 🥰

Maybe i would redefine what i meant to say as i am riding as aggressive as i want to and by no means am easy on the rocket but i could ride harder but chose not to 80% of the time.
