Ponters Headers

Hmmmm, wonder how hard it is and the cost to get the bike sent to Nevs....now thats a though, and while its there, a few extra little things just might get done. Hmmmm. Will what happens with the insurance (if any) with the other guy and I will keep that thought.

mate, not giving you legal advice but the tosser that is at fault owes you, insurance or not. if they own anything and the car was owned by that individual, you'll get your money. slowly perhaps but you'll get paid.

As far as sending it to Nevs....dont think about it! if it were me, i got to be honest, stop thinking about it, JUST DO IT! You'll make up the 400 or 500 bucks in transport costs in having him solve it for you plus you'll have your girl running smother, cooler and better

We looked at welding/brazing my sump plate when i busted it , Triumph didn't have one in stock (surprise .. surprise) Took it to some pretty clued up welders who reckoned the alloy was just so porous that it was un-weldable. Plugged it up with twopack epoxy resin till new sump plate arrived. Don't think the crank cases are anymore welder-friendly , but i could be wrong.

Two mating crankcase halves, total USD3,722 on Bike Bandit - and you can do better than their prices, probably 20% less....

Mind you, there's still gonna be some other bits, plus freight to Oz.

Can well imagine Triumph Oz and their dealers quoting ten grand tho.....seems to be the way of things.

Is the sump plate aluminium? And the engine block cast iron? Cast iron is easier to weld.

Sump plates real ****ty honeycomb alloy .. not sure about the crank-cases .

Triumph Dealers work on 200% profit margin i'm led to believe ...

Drove past the house of the address I was given. Guess I know why I have no running board and brake assembly left.

Not a good sign for insurance if it's not in the shop getting fixed

Since it was on my way to work it is workers comp and the guy I hit phoned 000 for ambulance so police turned up as well and took all details. Work comp said they would mate up their claim with the police report and my neighbour is in traffic of the division looking after that crash and he is assisting as well.
