A back tire on the front? PICS! Someone else did that too.
8600 on the ride, and the back is showing chord. The front is past the wear bars too. Picking up the mounted rear this morning, and the front comes off later today. Flip's paddock stand was a blessing. New AVONS!
Once i got just 1000km out of a new rear tyre.I somehow picked up a self- tapping screw in the middle of the tyre.my tyre guy said he could plug it but don't exceed 100 kmph for safety reasons. i spent another $440 and got a new one
Had poor wear on another bike (1979 Guzzi with about 60bhp) with Metzler. Wont be fitting their tyres unless again I really have to because there's no alternative.
Tried a Cobra front and that wore fast too. For what ever reason I shred teh ****e of V rated tyres over here in summer - I'm convinced it's heat related as the rubber was peeling off in little balls and discoloured.
Now have a CT rear and Avon Azaro 140/80 rear on the front. Both Z rated. Heat up less.
Metz rear 4800 kms. OK when brand new.
Avon Cobra rear 6500-7000 kms. Excellent in dry. Skittish in the wet.
Bridgestone Exedra Max rear 10,000kms. Simply better all round.
Metz front 6500kms. Horrible.
Avon Cobra front 10,000 kms. Sure footed. Good, even wear.
Bridgestone Exedra (not Max) front 5000 kms. Very disappointing.
Be very interested to see how the Commander II goes.

Only for the Touring (16") although there is a 130/70x17 radial if you're game to go down to that size. Some have, but it's a big drop from the stock 150/80x17.

I have 8,000 on the Excedra Max. ? Front is fine, but not much rain groove left on the rear. Pretty sure hauling the trailer around most of those miles is affecting it. Had a new rear in the trailer on my last trip just in case. Problem with that is finding a qualified person to change it
