2008 R III T w/o HP

I was looking forward to my R III T. Triumph made it handle better, more comfortable, but the power is sorry for a 2300cc motor. The torque is good, but when a HD with only a pipe, and power commander walks around you, Triumph should feel ashame for what they've done. R III stands for performance, but not in the case of the "Touring". At the moment I'm pist off at myself for not staying with HD. Hopefully this feeling will change by breathing life back into this motor.

Remember the old phrase "GIVE ME POWER, OR GIVE ME DEATH".

Getting outrun by a HD Lowrider, someone at Triumph needs to be hung! 2300cc, 90HP,
what were they thinking?

Stick,Just hang in there it will be a little while for Tunboy and pipes.Did you ride it before you bought it?? Heres one of the biggest reasons not to buy till you ride. Thanks for an honest review..Jack

((Getting outrun by a HD Lowrider))Stick, put the gun down. This bunch will keep it quite..Just remember that Hd is going as fast as its gona but your Rocket can make double what its putting out now..

Stick- at least the rear cylinder won't be BBQ'n your leg like on the good old air cooled 96er. Give it time, there'll be some solutions, like Jack said there are benefits and drawbacks to being one of the first.

Thanx 4 the support

The plan is to get rid of the catalytic converter, K&N filter, and either putting the R III program in it, or getting a tuneboy if the money has to be spent. Its a disgrace to have a 2300cc, liquid cooled motor that gets beat by a Briggs and Stratton "HD". I'm disappointed in Triumph, but still looking forward to the day this motor is brought to life.

Thanx again for the words of encouragement,

I read all these-new R3 owner here-and I'm a bit confused. Mine came with Jardeins already installed and the service mgr. said a tune was in that works well. Bike runs like a raped ape, pops a bit on decel, has great throttle responce, ect.

So, do I need to do anything else, and what is the 12 min tune? Thanks
KOF

Mate I've got to say I understand your grief...BUT (you know there's always a but :D), isn't it up to you to do the research and determine what's the best deal - seriously, how can you get on this thread and blame Hinckley!! - just my (had a drink) 2 cents worth

The RIII T was never intended for performance. It's intended to easily lug a bunch of luggage and a spouse all over the country with a detuned/under stressed motor that will last a life time. Pulling power, kind of like a Ford F350, but like a F350, it won't outrun anything. It was never meant to.

If you want that, there's two other RIII models... :D
