Ordered a windshield -Must be getting old!

It's not as quick to swap as a Road King, but only 4 12mm bolts and it's off. I will be swapping between my fly screen, which will be on most of the time.. and the new windshield..

Ordered mine new shield (+6") last week. Tracking says it should arrive Monday. Cee Baileys are GREAT to work with. My father (80 years old) has been working with them on Aircraft Parts since the 60's and has nothing but good things to say about them.

Powdercoated the chrome brackets on one of my screens black. Not sure if it was a good move to be honest. Brackets that i picked up were pretty shabby so had to spruce'em up. Think you can see the black brackets on the pics Canberra took at Nabiac.

Screwed up .. must have had'em powdercoated after Nabiac. Thanks Richard .. dead-set you're like Superman mate . Dart into a phonebox .. appear in your ' i'll find that post for you' cape and .. wollarr .. there it is :D

TxRIIIRider, I predict you won't use your new Cee Baileys screen much. Within a year you'll end up selling it on eBay for like $200 and throwing in the summer screen to boot, much prefering to just use the flyscreen. :D

LOL... You are correct, I bought it... rode with it about two weeks off and on.. and, for me the Rocket was meant to go with the fly screen.. lol I knew if I posted a pic of my bike, I would be caught... lol It needs to go, and I need to raise funds to drag my VW trike out of my shop and get it on the road... :)

I've always preferred a naked bike, but the little racing screen I got has been very nice.

It is louder than riding without (some buffeting sounds), but keeps the wind pressure off my chest, which allows me to be much more relaxed in the arms and waist than I used to be. That makes riding much less tiring to me than riding "naked."

Seems like it was $130+ $33.00 shipping, hardware included.

Maybe it's me but I have never been tempted to get the fly screen. I have had the Clearview screens on both my previous Rocket and Thunderbird and also on the Harley with the Gold Wing vent. I also don't give too much crap on what others think about having a windshield on the bike (sorry don't mean to sound "mean spirited") but since it is my bike and since my last 8 bikes have had windshields I like the comfort it gives me especially on long trips and when riding in the cold. I find I can ride longer and I am not tired when I park the bike at the end of the day.

When I made my fast trip across north Florida back in 1987 at pretty much throttle pegged out (this is in my younger years...I wouldn't do it today...I don't think) and did 380 miles in 3 hours and 45 minutes (Mayport/Atlantic Beach to Cantonment, FL) without a windshield...I don't know how I did it as I remember very much the wind hitting my chest area...hard...the main reason I was able to do it was it (Yamaha 1100 Virago) had a pretty comfortable seat and I only needed two gas stops on the way over.

I'll stick with the windshield.
