Oil level

Just did a change this past weekend. I checked the level cold and it was about 25mm above the max mark (that's cold without doing the "start-and-run-then-wait-then-check" procedure). I know that with the proper procedure it was halfway between the low and high marks--something like 50mm difference(?) IIRC.

I then drained cold and 4.8 liters came out, including the oil that drained from the filter--that's just 0.4 shy of a dry fill. Pre-filled the new filter, added 4.6 per the manual, did the procedure, oil was at the low mark. Added another ~0.3 and it was in the middle again.

In my just over 1 year with the rocket I have come to the conclusion that oil levels are not necessarily consistent when checking. I just use an average over 3 or more checks.

Wow, 50mm difference. Mine was 15mm. That's a massive difference between bikes. Wonder why & how?
