Oil change filter problem

So whilst you start on the side stand with a cold engine, you then warm it up for 60-90 seconds only without revving it..

Ah! Not all manuals are created equally. That is a SERVICE manual I assume. Mine is the owners manual. Thank you for clarifying! Ride safe.
Btw owners manual contradicts that, saying warm engine, let it sit a couple of minutes.

Now you are just being awkward ... no difference between 2019 and 2020 R or GT models is there? I just downloaded on that link and it's there

Try navigating from here: Manuals ... to Rocket 3... no years are descibed and the Rocket 3 only came out in 2019 as a new model.

Oh rite, so the manual you got with the bike does not say that... I see where you are coming from... luckily the latest manual is available online so as long as you have access to the internet, you'll be OK

My bike is 2020, registered March 1st BTW and the manual that came with it is below.

maybe you have a rare manual with a misprint and could sell it for 1000's of dollars like you can with first editions etc.

i just want to stir the pot!
that ought to ring the bells of the moderators
i will throw out a challenge
and say most everyone is being to particular if u just put 5 quarts in start it up for 60 seconds and add oil to make sure that the oil is between the cold mark and the hot mark.
after that i don't care whether u check it on the stand,off the stand, while is running or driving down the road i think it will be with in 3/8 inch from the hot mark.

Lost the main point of the post, oil filter!
Btw these kick stands are so short, which I love, make it less important on oil read stand or not. My honda had a looong kick stand so the level difference was drastic.

i do not know about the new filters but my 07 has a chrome shield and i just wiggle it off and then i can use a small filter wrench on it.
i will try to look at that manual and see if it makes any since to me
