I received the report from the dealer today. The front tire is out of round. He has taken video and put in a claim with Avon for a tire with 900 miles and now out of round. It was ok in the beginning but developed the vibration that I felt over the last 300 miles.
To save time and down time the dealer already ordered another one to put on my bike then replace their purchase with the warranty replaced tire. My man over there also told me there would be no labor charges. Told you all they’d take care of me.
The 790D comes with pretty much ALL the electronics as standard - The 890R comes with almost none. I find in Track mode I have to turn a lot of gizmo stuff like the quickshifter off otherwise I simply cannot get it to run "right". They are very very light. And feel lighter still. After an R3 it has been a bit of a shock.
Triumph really need to get their act together with R3 suitable Tyres. - Either they do not understand how their purchasers will ride, or the wrong folk are buying them.
If it were me once I took the tire off the rim I would mount the rim on the bike or on static rollers and check concenticity with a dial indicator. Just because if you can picture the rim egg shaped you can picture the tire egg shaped to match. Plus it will eliminate and rim, axle, or bearing concerns.
