not again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Do you know how many members don't own a rocket?? It is not a requirement to enjoy this great forum, you can ride a bicycle or be on foot and still be part of this crazy bunch. Many just like you have had lots of problems with their rockets, went to a different brand and still hang with us at RAAs and here, STB and Rain come to mind just for starters

a fair point mexican, i may hand around and tell you about my next bike when i decide what it is ,, i may go all teutonic and buy a beemer k1300gt ,

I reckon if your going to take a loss on the 9yo bike. .. put that loss into repairing the transmission (with back cut dog gears) And never worry about it again. But that's just me. Cant blame Triumph for any previous owners lack of rider skill etc. I ride my R3R hard, smoke the tyre slam into second (flat changes) NO ISSUES yet!!!! I ride hard and things will break (on any car/bike/scooter and bicycle) no one can blame you for being pissed off and nor can you blame Triumph, they have upgraded the transmission in 2009, and lets face it the poms have historically sucked at wiring and electronics but are always improving.
Nothing in this world is perfect. Buy new to avoid buying something that has been punished by others.

Make sure you post pics, we love pics, i have been lucky with all my bikes, this is my current arsenal; I'm just as happy riding the rocket as iam riding the harley or the spyder, the bird or the little ninja

for the record, the previuos owner was 60 odd years old , he is registered disabled , he didnt clean the bike like you should but i can bet my bollox that he didnt hoon around on it like mad max , , finally the gearbox is a weak and poor design and that issue lies firmly in the lap of triumph and no one else , rockets post 2009 have tranny issues so the matter still hasnt been resolved completely,,,,if a builder builds my roof wrong then its his fault ,not the person living under it , its a good bike but i aint happy with its reliability and it aint style of riding thats broken it . I dont do burn outs , i dont over rev it , and i dont rush changes . I dont have the time or patient to get it sorted out , i deploy in 3 weeks for 3 months and want it gone . I shall potter about on my roadking at least it ****ing works , never broke down , 65000kms and a dealer that gives me a coffee when i walk in the door. No more rocketing for me ,, gonna be plenty of potato potato till i get some test rides done and work through my shortlist

seems alot of big cc higher power bikes have a 2nd gear issue...ive been warned of this on my xs 1100

mechanical things break...i recomend you trade in the old rocket for a brand spankin new one.and enjoy the ride...

either that or dont let the door hit ya where the GOOD LORD split ya!!!

i still cant wait till my wife and i can waltz into the stealership and ride out on a brand freakin new rocket roadster...All B.S.aside dapper i hope you find happieness on what ever bike you choose to ride...riding is supposed to be about stress relief not drama..
