Well I finally got to the bottom of the howling. Wounded cat under the rear fendor! Well that's what it sounded like anyways.

I had to get rid of my windshield, just not for me, love the wind up against me and in my face. I had the lowers mounted at well to reduce the turbulence from the windshield, which it did nicely. After removing the windshield I kept the lowers on, if for no other reason, rain protection. Well they turned out to be great bug collectors, so off that came. Kept the mounts on the forks for a month or so, that got buggy too, so off they came. And so did the howling, it was the lower mounting brackets that sang when in a turn leaning over. Since removal, haven't heard a peep.

Just thought I would let you know how things ended up.

Hoopla

Getting to the bottom of something that appears to be imperceptible is very satisfying. Well done.

All fixed, great. I know know a few times I have experienced howling in some corners but when the bike made it around the corner I stopped howling with relief.

Does this only happen at night with a full moon? Are the backs of your hand suddenly really, really hairy? If so run as fast as you can if you see the Lone Ranger or a vampire approaching. ;):p:D

Hi hoopla
I was sure this was going to be tires. My Metzlers are cupped pretty bad only 6000 miles. They howl just changing lanes.
Windshield works great thank you.
