No power, stalling and hard start

I'd start by checking whatever was done to it, "after" you got rear ended. Maybe something ain't plugged in right.

Here's something else to check. After dropping/breaking my bike on the right side. The Chrome exhaust pipe on had few scratches but did not show any real sign of damage. However, when upgrading to TORS, I found the catalytic covertor had broken apart clogging the right pipe. When I removed the pipe it sounded like sand and rocks were inside.

I would definetly check the plugs on her if they pulled the rear fender there are a lot of plugs to be unhooked around the ECU before the fender comes up. some go right over the top of the ecu and some around it although its hard to mix them up except for the turn signals which have the same plugs. they are marked by one side having red tape on it. and the other does not easy fix if wrong just reverse the plugs. same with the front ones under the tank. The question is hoe much did they take off to fix it. Myself I would have pulled the tank to make sure it did not get damaged I would check all the plug stating at the ecu which were probably unpluged to get at everything els. the O2 sensor is a ***** you have to remove the ecu to get the pig tail out if your pulling the sensor. Hopefully no one pulled the tensioner or the impact was not enough to make it relax and jump timing. How much rear damage was there?

There was not a huge amount of rear damage, I did have the tank pulled to get painted though. I'd have to guess that I was hit at about 5-8 miles an hour.

What really makes me think that some part failed rather than something wasn't plugged in right is that the problem became exponentially worse over several days. Culminating in it not running at all. But I'm going to go through all these harnesses before I spend money on a throttle position sensor

Your TPS may just need adjustment not replacing. Do you have Tuneboy or Tune ECU? If so you can check the voltage on your TPS. If you do not have Tune ECU get it, its free. Also you might try removing your secondaries, you and your bike will love it. Sorry if someone has already suggested this.

One simple thing can make the bike run like ****. When I changed out the oil tank seals I forgot to re-attach one MAP sensor hose and it ran like yours is running plus smoke coming out the exhaust. Put the sensor hose back on and the bike purred like a kitten. Recently the crappy running was just a worn out main fuse.

You will eventually find the culprit and you will learn a lot in the process. Good luck!

Well, problem solved! Ended being nothing more than a clogged fuel filter... I'm thinking that the gas that the shop put in were I had my bodywork done is the culprit. Thanks again everyone for all the help and suggestions!!

Hey guys, got a pretty big problem here. Just got my bike back from being worked on after I was rear ended and now I've got issues....

Ran fine at first, then it started hesitating under power between 1500 and 4000 rpm. The problem has gotten worse to the point where it will sputter as soon as I give it gas and barely move. It acts normal once you get it above 4000. Also starts hard and idles low and rough. I'd appreciate any feedback so very much. In a pretty frustrated mood considering I just got the thing. It's a 2006 with just over 10,000 miles on it

If the shop did any mechanical (as opposed to body) work, I'd bring it back and say, what the hell? Fix it.

Glad it worked out for you but keep a eye on the low tension leads to the coils the do work loose.
