Next Rocket model

The other thing that pisses me off is the lack of a decent rear fender on the Diavel Ive seen them with mud slung all over the back of the bikes what a stupid design its like the designers never rode a street bike in the real world what are they thinking ? I do like seeing them on the road as it gives me another hot rod bike to pick on with my modded roadster as they think its just another big slow cruiser LOL
 
I am on the fence on whether a fully dressed Rocket with all the bells and whistles would appeal to me??? But the option would be great... I think Triumph should play to the customer and offer the Rocket in different models all together, just like what Honda does with it's Goldwing engine. You see that on so many other types and models of bikes these days... Or, if they are thinking of discontinuing the rocket all together, they should have a special version with all the bells and whistles available by special order only. That way it keeps production costs down. Just an idea anyway..... But I do like my roadster in all it's simplicity, there should be some more options available to appeal to today's high tech riders and customer base. It is time to modernize this beast..... That or open her up all the way and sell a 250hp version of the roadster.... One or the other will sell...
 
YEA, Triumph is discontinuing the Trophy so let the engineers figure out a way to shoehorn the 2300 triple into that hwy machine and see what happens, or go the other way with a street glide model sporting the roadster engine! It seems like Triumph found their identity and it's the retro's and adv's but really just the retro's. the rest of us keep waiting for a modern update that never comes.
 
Talked to one of the Triumph USA representatives today at the Triumph display during the Barbor motorsports event. I asked him about the future of the Rocket and was told that although the Rocket was not one of their best sellers, they are selling enough to continue production. He said they sale about 500 Rockets in a the USA each year, but sell many more than that worldwide. He would would not discuss about any upgrades to the Rocket but asked me what I thought needed changed to make a better bike. After I listed pretty much what we have discussed on this site (including more HP), he floored me by asking if I thought a smaller and lighter frame would improve the bike! Obviously I said YES! Not sure if this means anything, but very interesting. By the way, I saw three Rockets ( one Roadster, one Touring, and one Classic) at the event.
 
Falls directly in line with re-targeting the Rocket to a real street fighter vs cruiserish street fighter.

Hadn't heard the Trophy is a dead bike rolling, interesting. It didn't last terribly long.
 
For me, i like the Roadster the way it is. Its reasonably easy to work on mechanically and electrically. What a great bike to ride!...sweet smooth power like well oiled sewing machines humming...well balanced too!...i just love my baby!
Maybe black with different stripe colour for future bikes to identify the year of manufacture and thats it. They are and always will be a place in history im glad im part of....the younger generation will hear the story of the "Mighty Rocket" from all of us in our twilight years im sure!

Going by the age of forum members plotted on a Bell distribution curve, I think we are already talking of them in our twilight years, not sure the younger generation is listening though
