I just don't get the 'ugly' pipes bit. handsome beast to my eye - pipes an' all.

The pipes on the Roadster are the second ugliest pipes in all of cruiserdom. The Road Star Warrior pipes must rightfully claim the title of ugliest. Fair is fair, afterall.

We trudge on.

Try Googling Suzuki B-King or Moto Guzzi Griso. Not cruisers, but some pretty homely pipes nonetheless.

I don't think the Roasdster pipes are ugly; just ridiculously big - remind me (and others) of Goofy feet. R3T size but with the sweep of the Roadster would have looked more balanced IMO. I think Honda would have to be in the running for ugliest with some of their 2 into 1 cruiser offerings - VTX for a start. Yamaha (Star) not much better except for the art deco Roadliner.
